This is the most senior International Paper Security Threat Management position responsible for the implementation of global threat management process development and enterprise security risk management programs. These programs include proper identification, evaluation and monitoring of all employee risks in accordance with International Paper (IP’s) Enterprise Security Management (ESM) strategic plan. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and manage International Paper’s threat management framework for all global employees. Using risk-based and cost benefit analysis commensurate with resource allocation, will identify employee risk in Executive Protection, Active Shooter, Work Place Violence, High Risk Terminations, Employee Security Travel, Special Events Security management, Kidnap & Ransom, Critical Incident Management Coordination, and will prepare business cases to obtain and allocate financial and human resources to manage risk according to IP risk tolerance and the evolving threat landscape. This position will report to the Chief Security Officer (CSO), and will manage teams and projects.
Advising business leaders with the development and implementation of appropriate risk / threat management programs, this position has security accountabilities for all corporate and global IP executives and employees. Works closely with the Legal, Enterprise Health and Safety, Regional Safety, Business Risk Management, business unit leadership, department heads and supervisors to develop and enhance threat / risk management capabilities by utilizing effective security risk management practices and tools. Assumes responsibility for ensuring that man-made threats have been appropriately addressed risk, providing reliable, complete, and timely reporting of risk management issues and strategies. Maintain an awareness of external global employee risk trends and develop opportunities for threat management internal controls and risk management programs.

Knowledge and Experience:
Must be able to leverage a mix of employees, consultants and managed services to ensure we have the right skills/resources driving IP’s threat management programs. Will leverage outside expertise or co-source where efficiencies can be achieved without negatively impacting the enterprise. Unify efforts around threat management and bring together functional, business unit and external entities, including law enforcement and governmental partners, to prevent security incidents, mitigate risk and/or recover when incidents occur. Will solicit key stakeholders to be “at the table” to contribute priorities, expertise, knowledge and resources.
