Manages the security services and related operations in the United States, provided on an assigned account including client service and problem resolution, service enhancement and expansion, new business development, operational effectiveness, preparation of post orders, staffing, scheduling, supervision and training. Reports to the National Account Manager for the assigned account.
The functions listed describe the business purpose of this position. Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. The Regional Account Manager (RAM) might or might not be required to perform all the listed functions. Additional duties may and can be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to business necessity.
All duties or tasks assigned are deemed to be part of the essential functions, unless such duties or tasks are unrelated to the functions listed, in which case they are deemed to be other (non-essential) functions.
The RAM will be held accountable for a successful job performance. Job performance standards may be documented separately, and may include functions, objectives, duties, and / or tasks not specifically listed herein.
In performing functions, duties, or tasks, the RAM is required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of all company policies and procedures related to job safety; including safety rules and regulations. The RAM is required to notify superiors or authorized representatives immediately upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.
All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of the company or clients policies, the RAM is required to request clarification or explanation from superiors, the client, or their authorized representatives.
Directs or completes tasks associated with these areas of responsibilities
Serves as a key point of contact for the United States to ensure the delivery of high quality customer service for assigned region; evaluates service quality and initiates any necessary corrective action in a timely manner.
Assumes full P & L responsibility for the United States along with the National Account Manager and Branch Managers; analyzes operational and financial indicators to continuously improve account performance.
Coordinates activity with and acts as liaison for the National Account Manager to provide highest level of service for an assigned account; implements programs and initiatives as directed by National Account Manager.
Meets regularly with client representatives for status updates; addresses any actual or potential problems; assists line management in negotiation of contract; provides support during client start-up; supports security planning, assessments and surveys; reviews and updates post orders.
Oversees and coordinates with Site management, and participates in the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development and retention of high caliber staff; acts to ensure that each staff member is treated with dignity and respect; plans, assigns, and directs work; coaches employees and carries out disciplinary actions, as necessary.
Assists National Account Manager in development and administration of budget in relation to assigned account.
Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Within scope of the client contract and assigned duties, authorizes appropriate expenditures including equipment, supplies, and vehicles; acts to ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and administers driver training; acts to ensure that there is an adequate inventory of uniforms, radios, and other supplies and equipment; maintains and submits payroll records and other associate and business information.
Prepares and coordinates staffing schedules for account, in collaboration with line management as necessary; acts to ensure that scheduling is handled effectively to meet client requirements while controlling labor costs; reviews Security Officer site reports to verify post orders and client directives have been satisfactorily followed; personally inspects all posts as part the evaluation of security staff.
Provides input to company initiatives; promptly assists in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.
Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assigned account.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY
Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
Associate’s Degree and 5 years of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any and all applicable federal, state, county or municipal licensing requirements.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for the specific skills, certifications, or authorizations specific to the clients business.
Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
Knowledge of leadership and supervisory practices.
Skill or experience in managing, leading and supervising in a geo dispersed region or area.
Planning and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats
Understanding of a verity of security concepts, methods and practices.
Ability to interpret, track, and maintain schedules, metrics, and other performance and cost indicators.
Knowledge of budgeting and budget practices.

Ability to use a computer and certain software such as but not limited to; Excel spread sheets, Word, PowerPoint or like products.
