Reporting to the PalAmerican Corporate Director, Healthcare with a matrix reporting to the local Healthcare Director, Security Operations the Manager is responsible and dedicated to overseeing the security program of the assigned healthcare portfolio in concert with the Director, Security Operations who will have the operational accountability for the program. The Account Manager will be the key client liaison and day to day point of contact. The Account Manager will take the lead in developing and maintaining security policy & procedures, coordinating best practice strategies to support the program, overseeing and coordinating performance reporting, researching and implementing best practice processes and providing coaching and mentorship to all security staff to ensure a safe and secure workplace for patient, staff, clients, and visitors.
TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as the primary representative for PalAmerican Security within the assigned portfolio, including but not limited to, directly liaising and working closely with the corporate client, site based administration and management, and other key stakeholders, both internal and external.
Produces monthly reports for the client as a component of the contract management framework and other reports as required.
Leads in developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating an overall security program within the portfolio, including Security plans, Policy & Procedure Manuals, and OSHA programs.
Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster security awareness within the organization; works with client, site-based Leadership teams and Director, Security Operations in developing hospital-wide security programs by delivering and supporting educational security in-services.
Acts as the security representative for client in all matters including but not limited to Joint Commission Accreditation.
Follows the client guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Assists in preparation and management of the budget and closely monitors the financial performance of the assigned portfolio
Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience
Successful applicant should have a minimum of 3 years healthcare security experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, or a combination of experience and relevant education.
Applicants must also have a valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle that will be used for work purposes. A diploma in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Health Care Administration or related discipline would be considered an asset. Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and national standards on fire safety, building codes, security, and protection of privacy would also be an asset. The successful applicant must have a membership or be willing to become an active member of the International Association of Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) and must have, or be willing to work towards obtaining their Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) designation within one year.
