Reporting to the Deputy Chief Security Officer for Operations (DCSO), this position will be responsible to develop and maintain a comprehensive video media management, editing, storage and distribution program for all MNR video systems.
• Develop, manage, maintain, and safeguard confidential and highly-sensitive digital media, video data, photos, records and documentation for preservation, reproduction, and distribution. • Develop, manage, and maintain a digital asset management database ensuring content conforms to established naming and labeling conventions. Organize archival records and develop classification systems to facilitate storage and access to archival materials. • Review, compile, edit, label, and package video data for distribution in response to requests from internal and external parties including FOIL, law-enforcement, media, etc. • Assist with the development of agency-wide standards, procedures, workflows, and policies for managing video media assets and assist with projects to identify, evaluate, recommend, and implement appropriate hardware and software applications for digital media management. • Research, record, and report on the key performance indicators for this critical function within the Security Department. • Establish and administer policy guidelines concerning access and use of materials. • Other duties as assigned.
• Practical experience with digital media management, and the workflow and procedures associated with managing digital video and photo data. • Knowledge of digital media lifecycle including: capture, formats and codecs, metadata, color management, file conversion, editing, preservation, and dissemination. • Demonstrated ability to manage organizational goals. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with fluctuating priorities. • Experience with Final Cut Pro X, Compressor 4, Sony Vegas Pro 13 Suite or comparable applications. • Professional experience with Adobe Captivate and Adobe Photoshop. • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or comparable software PC applications • Working Knowledge of Apple Mac Environment and PC Windows Environment. • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with Pelco, Cisco, and/or NICE video management systems. • Experience with LENEL access control systems. • Knowledge of Metro-North Railroad's operations, organization and territory. • Knowledge of NIMS/ICS protocols and appropriate NIMS certifications. • Knowledge of standard industrial security practices.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Technology, Security, or a related field. Demonstrated equivalent experience, education, and/or technical credentials to include an additional four (4) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in video production, editing, or related functions. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing staff and/or a process.
This position is safety sensitive and is subject to toxicological testing.
