Senior level security systems design professional working with architects and design professionals, owners, end-users, contractors, product manufacturers, and coworkers to manage projects from start to finish.
Required skills include outstanding project planning, execution, and field observation, with the ability to support simultaneous projects in different project stages. Job duties include producing detailed drawings, specifications, calculations, and report information for clients use, within specified budget and schedule constraints.
Prepare project fee budgets and professional service proposals for new projects. Participate in business development, marketing activities, and project interviews. Maintain client relationships.
Manage the Programming, Design, Construction, and Close Out phases of each assigned project. Manage labor costs and billings for the internal project budget to come in on or under for each phase.
Conduct client meetings and programming sessions to develop the system parameters and design criteria.
Prepare Opinions of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) for systems as required.
Prepare schedules and identify tasks required to complete each phase of the project. Delegate and manage task responsibilities of design staff to meet client and design team due dates.
Lead the system design effort and preparation of contract documents consisting of AutoCAD/Revit drawings and CSI-format specifications detailing the system design and programming criteria.
Work collaboratively with the client’s design team, representing the client’s interests and concerns, coordinating the system design and developing creative alternatives.
Identify, prepare, and coordinate additional services when scope of the project deviates from the professional services agreement.
Special projects as assigned
Four-year degree required with a preference for Engineering or Technology Related degree
Professional credential or relevant experience with security systems design for buildings
Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit as well as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Adapts to and reinforces company systems, standards, and processes
Possesses excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills
