Responsible for directing the overall planning and operation of the medical center security function as well as the safety function for the Professional Office Buildings. Recommends, develops and implements medical center and department policies and procedures, while ensuring adherence to same. Develops short/long range medical center/department plans. Responsible for budget preparation and personnel administration. Serves as a liaison between Medical City Dallas, Ltd. and Medical City Dallas Hospital in safety/security matters.
Requires a level of knowledge of local, state and federal laws, current safety/security practices and property loss prevention techniques, as well as management skills and abilities as are normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a field closely related to public safety/security administration.
Requires 7 to 10 years supervisory experience in safety/security, preferably in a hospital environment. Requires analytical ability necessary to manage budget preparation, determine work force requirements and conduct cost/benefit studies regarding various services and programs.
Requires a high level of interpersonal skills necessary to present recommendations and repot to all levels of management and medical staff as well as communicate with a divers group of direct and indirect reports. Must possess ability to make critical decisions during potentially life-threatening/crisis situations.
