The successful candidates will be required to teach courses in the Protection, Security & Investigation diploma program at the Lakeshore campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidates will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicants will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement.
The candidates will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. These individuals will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
The successful candidates will have a graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant discipline. In addition, the successful candidates will have 10 or more years of experience in at least two of the following areas: corporate security management, online investigations, risk management, cyber security, and physical security systems, particularly in the private sector. The successful candidates will have proven teaching ability at the post-secondary level, demonstrated experience teaching to a diverse group of students and experience working in a multicultural environment and a commitment to excellence in the classroom and demonstrated ability in curriculum development and delivery. Additional qualifications include: demonstrated understanding of, and competency in, the teaching/learning profession with a learning-centered approach; superior and demonstrable written and oral communication, mediation, teamwork, and well-developed interpersonal communication skills and problem solving skills; proven ability to work in a diverse environment and demonstrated understanding of equity and inclusion; demonstrated high degree of attention and focus to detail; and demonstrated potential to assume broader academic leadership responsibilities.
