Embedded within an SIS Client’s Corporate Global Security and Resiliency (GSR) team, the Crisis & Emergency Manager is responsible for maintaining the Global Emergency Operations Center (GEOC) incident management response procedures, developing associated training, and leading the GEOC’s emergency communications and response efforts. The role requires developing drills, quality assurance standards, and communication tools to ensure that the GEOC’s crisis responses are timely, accurate, and consistent at all times. The Manager is responsible for Incident Management for local, regional or global events that impact the Client and will contribute to the inter-departmental as well as third party collaboration to mitigate their impact. The Manager will work with GSR leadership and Client points of contact to update the GEOC’s incident management response processes in alignment with enterprise-wide crisis response plans. The role will report up to the Global Crisis Manager on site.
In this role, you will:
• Provide emergency preparedness and response subject matter expertise, directly supporting the client’s Crisis Manager, GSR Leadership, and associated GSR verticals (incl. Global Intelligence Center, Travel Security) • Develop internal training, quality assurance measures (KPIs), policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency management approach for the GEOC • Contribute to the development of GEOC’s role within the enterprise-wide risk management framework (including: policy, standards, aide memoires, SOPs, playbooks, escalation protocols, etc) • Administer and support the delivery of employee crisis response and incident management training and preparedness across the GEOC by leveraging existing technologies to ensure quality controls and assurance to the business leads • Own and manage the Client emergency notification system (ENS), its architecture, and ongoing maintenance • Develop and deploy crisis management communication • Manage global conference calls, Client ENS, escalation notifications, and help coordinate follow up actions across dispersed team during emergencies or any other type of major business interruptions • Deliver metrics and measurement supporting program evolution and validation • Help facilitate post-incident debriefs and apply process improvement observations and recommendations into the plans, policies, SOPs, plans, and associated training. • Perform other related duties as required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Crisis Communications or related field • Certified in FEMA courses (IS-100.b ICS, IS 700.a NIMS) and/or Red Cross training • Have knowledge of crisis communications/emergency management principles, practices and processes that are in alignment with industry standard best practices • Dynamic experience in leading global crisis communications, focusing on ability to maintain calm and efficiency in high-pressure settings • Experience managing incident response involving multiple departments within 24x7 operating environments • Experience working with the Red Cross, FEMA, and/or similar crisis response providers • Drive organizational direction, and possess attributes of time management, problem-solving, prioritization, goal setting, leadership and motivation, negotiation, interpersonal relations, detail oriented, verbal/written communications and human resource management • Must be able to work irregular hours and support emergency and crisis response situations (on-call requirements) • High computer literacy (MS Suite, Incident Management Tools, Mass Notification Systems, Social Media) • End-user and administrative experience with emergency notifications systems (ENS) • Must complete and maintain state Guard Certification as prescribed by presiding state law, as well as all client requested certifications; all documentation and fees are the responsibility of the employee unless otherwise noted
• Certification from International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) as a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and/or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a Master Exercise Practitioner (MEPP) • PMP Certification • Additional Language Skills • Membership and/or network within IAEM or related CM organizations
