Reports to the Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management. Administratively responsible for the physical and operational security program within the Healthcare System. Assists in the development of the system Master Security Plan, and is directly responsible for the implementation and oversight of system security operations. Oversees Large Level 1 Trauma Center and 5 smaller Regional Healthcare Facilities, as well as the Access Control and ID Badge Office staff. Coordinates utilization of Contract Security corporate resources as necessary in support of the system security program. Coordinates Security Services functions with all Hospital administrative /leadership teams, department heads, and others in accordance with the System’s Mission, Vision, & Values, Policies and Procedures.
Will play a highly dynamic role, responsible for all activities, programs and services related to the entire system’s and individual Healthcare Security Programs. The Director will serve a member of each Hospital's Safety Committee and as a member of each Hospitals Emergency Management Committee. The Director may also be a contributing member to other work groups and committees as required.
The Director will develop or maintain an existing relationship with all Local Jurisdiction Law Enforcement Agencies in an effort to promote and sustain proactive operational expectations, communications, and pre-planned situational responses where Local Law Enforcement assistance or interventions are required on our Healthcare campuses.
EDUCATION: Minimum - Bachelor of Arts degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
EXPERIENCE: Security and safety management experience with healthcare and multi unit management sector, 5 years experience preferred, 3+ years experience required. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Healthcare Security – in a multi unit environments, including state and federal laws and codes pertaining to security and safety compliance. Experience managing security investigations, audits and other forms of analysis. Should have Emergency Management and Business Continuity Planning experience, as well as experience administering access control, key control, CCTV and IP-Addressable Camera systems including database management and systems integration of those technologies and systems.
SKILLS: Basic computer skills to include a strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to create and manage operational, strategic, investigational and risk assessment related reports. Will be responsible for assisting in the development of the annual security budgets at all Facilities and for month-to-month oversight and management of said budgets through the course of the budget year. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
