Responsible for the planning and design of the company’s Security and Emergency Management master plan, programs and procedures. Serves as a security consultant to all New Mexico Gas Company management and employees. Provides technical security expertise to corporate officers and employees. Further, creates physicalsecurity strategies for all corporate properties. Assesses security and threat risks in a timely and prudent manner and initiates appropriate response. Serves on the company’s Crisis Team.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, implements, and manages security of the company’s facilities/property and people (employees, vendors, contractors, shippers and visitors). Develops and implements programs and procedures to address potential criminal activity at company facilities, including losses by theft, burglary, robbery, fraud, environmental dumping, etc. Directs or conducts personal safety seminars to proactively respond to these activities.
Plans, develops and implements organization-wide security-related policies, procedures and training programs for all employees.
Assists in all internal criminal investigations and acts as company liaison with outside investigators. Gathers and evaluates intelligence information and its potential effect on the security of the corporation.
Manages and controls access to facilities. Maintains log of access and perform periodic audits of access.
Directs response to 24-hour call out of emergency/security calls for crises that require activation of any planned, security-related measures.
Develops and manages executive and employee protection plans.
Provides performance guidelines to contracted security staff and evaluates contract performance. Interacts with management and Human Resources staff in intervention procedures related to potential workplace violence cases.
Provides expertise to all departments and personnel in the planning, procurement, installation, and maintenance of electronic security systems and equipment, including intrusion alarms, panic buttons, closed circuit TV, access control devices, and photographic monitoring equipment.
Develops budgets for New Mexico Gas Company’s security and emergency management needs and manages budget appropriately.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field (i.e., Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration, etc.)
Required: Must at all times possess a valid driver’s license and meet the acceptable driving record requirements of the Company.
Preferred: Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification.
Required: Minimum of 5 years of direct work experience performing the Duties and Responsibilities of this or similar position.
Preferred: Some exposure to executive protection.
Required: Minimum of 2 years experience in a management/supervisory role or other leadership role.
