Our Arlington, VA has an immediate opening for a Senior Industrial Security Officerreporting to theManager, Security & Administrative Services.This is a non-exempt non-supervisory full-time position. The successful candidate will develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, sale of counterfeit products, documents, and equipment.
Ensures the timely processing of initial clearances and maintenance of current security clearances, using the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS).
Participates in RMF processes for Assessment and Authorizations as program compliance necessitates.
Conducts administrative tasks associated with the industrial security operation to include executing briefings and writing letters.
Ensures compliance with Government regulations affecting the facility and participates in the company’s security program.
Identifies and assists with investigations of any security violations and/or suspected compromises. Notifies, appropriate Government entities to include the Defense Security Service. Coordinates with the Director of Corporate Security, management and HCM, as necessary
Provides assistance to all staff in connection with security matters. Maintains liaison with Contracts, and other corporate departments related to security matters.
Proactively identifies and apprises management of developments, problems, and/or general status of facility security operations.
Provides support and assistance to other Arete locations and subcontractor personnel on security issues as needed.
Hosts Government assessors for security inspections at our cleared facilities as needed.
Conducts classified meeting in accordance with the NISPOM and contractual requirement
Provides leadership and guidance to company Associate Facility Security Officers.
Maintain a high level of both external and internal customer service with both Government security officers and Areté employees – security, technical, and admin staff – with whom this position must regularly coordinate with.
Completion of daily, weekly, monthly security compliance requirements as assigned/directed.
Provide Customer Service/Support for external and internal customers.
Maintain a robust planning calendar of security activities and timely monitoring of security task completion.
Develop and maintain Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) , Standard Practices and Policies (SPPs), and Plan Of Action and Milestones (POAM’S).

10 years’ experience as a Senior Security Officer/Facility Security Officer (10 years with BA/BS and 8 years with MA/MBA) or 18 years’ of experience as a Senior Security Officer/Facility Security Office with no degree
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or Master’s degree (MA/MBA)
Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI access, preferred
Strong knowledge of the NISPOM, NISPOM Overprint, JAFANs, 5200.01 series, 5205.07 series, DCIDs and ICDs, and the aspects specific to the execution of the Industrial Security Program. To include; personnel security; classified material/document control; classified information systems Assessment & Authorization; classified contract management and contract security classification specification (DD254) preparation; physical security; insider threat program; counter terrorism and counterintelligence; administrative inquiries, etc.
Knowledge of all three security domains – Collateral, SAP, and SCI – in both DOD and IC program security.
Experience and proficiency in at least one of the three domains and knowledgeable in the other two is required.
Strong knowledge and use of Department of Defense systems and applications which includes JPAS (with eQIP), NCCS -NISS (ISFD, OBMS, STEPP and eFCL) ACCS.
Knowledge and experience conducting security investigations and enforcing policies and procedures.
Experienced in managing cleared facilities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to multi-task and handle multiple projects at the same time.
Ability to plan and schedule the security team as directed by the Security Manager.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) Course Certificate of Completion Preferred
Completion of one or more DSS FSO training courses Preferred
