The Director of Watch Operations will define, shape, QA, and guide the dynamic alert product(s) under the Global Intelligence Division, Category Department.
Manage a 24/7/365 cadre of Watch Operations Managers (WOM) across multiple continents
Coordinate with Regional and Category Intelligence managers for a seamless indications & Warning intelligence product suite
Schedule WOMs to assure adequate 24/7/365 coverage
Provide metrics based quality assurance on intelligence products and services
Assure new employee training and continual WOM training meets internal standards on alerts and other relevant products and services
Creates, reviews, and updates SOP and guidance regarding alert creation and dissemination.
Works and collaborates with GID leadership to ensure consistent quality products and services.
Qualitatively and quantitatively identifies best practices, challenges, and room for improvement for WOM and analysts and communicates these findings to leadership.
Manages personnel; timecards, delegation of duties, bonus allocation, budget, annual appraisals for all direct reports.
Works closely with Editor-In-Chief on quality assurance of all content and products to ensure consistent appearance and dissemination, as well as excellent internal and external user experience.
Facilitate operational-intelligence fusion in support of incident management.
Education and Requirements
Minimum MS/MA in Geopolitical/International/Intelligence or related field, an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Candidates will be asked to pass a pre-employment background check as well as writing and technology aptitude screenings as a condition of employment.
7+ years as Analyst or Quality Assurance Manager of global/comprehensive risk assessments.
Course of duties should include products and employee metrics management and analysis in field, reporting, customer service (internal or external).
Significant experience in creation of dynamic threat intelligence for wide audience that relate risk or threat exposure.
Strong intelligence analyst candidates with leadership skills preferred.
Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
Ability to relate complex information to consumers and lay persons rapidly and accurately.
Staunch attention to detail and accuracy.
Understanding of the QA and Continuous Improvement (CI) process.
Excellent customer service skills (internal and external clients).
Ability to work independently to meet deadline and directives while also participating in a team environment.
Dedication in mentoring peers, developing standards, and accepting accountability.
Basic Microsoft software skills to include Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook.
Outstanding research skills using open source information available by web, print, or research institutions.
Development and maintenance of internal training program for skills maintenance and enhancement.
Ability to collect data on products and performance, analyze this data, and create reports to communicate to leadership on successes, challenges, and improvements.
