MEDICAL CITY DALLAS MANAGEMENT, LTD SECURITY MANAGER
POSITION TITLE: Manager, Security Operations
The purpose of this position is to manage/coach/supervise security personnel and oversee physical security, investigations as well as business continuity / crisis management in a manner consistent with Medical City Dallas Management, Ltd policies, procedures, quality, standards, customer needs and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Monitor existing security systems and respond to emergency situations on a 24/7 basis
Maintains and assesses security activities for repair, quality and effectiveness and to determine potential of physical security upgrades and modifications. This includes consulting with various department directors and managers to obtain information regarding departmental needs.
Oversees implementation and use of electronic security systems, closed circuit television (CCTV), entry controls, burglar alarms, ultrasonic motion detectors, outdoor perimeter, and microwave alarms, including monitoring and auditing these systems.
Responsible for the selection and deployment of guard services.
Responsible for the selection and deployment of contracted security companies hired for equipment upgrades, maintenance, and installation of physical security systems.
Manages the issuance of access control codes, ensures proper training, and investigates issues for improper use for employees and contractors.
Ensures proper testing and evaluation of the physical security system within the facility.
Identify gaps in physical security and take any necessary corrective action.
Develop and deliver security awareness training programs.
Conduct regular security audits.
Preparation and documentation of investigations of reported security related incidents for hand off to Human Resources, legal counsel, or law enforcement agencies with minimal supervision.
Timely and accurate completion of investigative reports. Manage multiple types of investigations (Code of Conduct, Fraud, Compliance, HIPPA violations and Work Place Violence).
Must be knowledgeable and work within the laws and statutes impacting methods used in successful investigations
Development and maintenance of professional working relationships with various law enforcement agencies. Often acts as single point of contact with law enforcement in cases involving employees, contractors or customers.
Business Continuity Management / Crisis Management
Establishes, implements and monitors specific business continuity management / crisis management efforts decided on by senior management.
Responsible for departmental response to threats, internal / external
Drive the development of the Business Continuity Plan.
Monitor the Emergency Preparedness Plan for all locations; and train others to act as incident leader in case of an emergency.
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field and two years supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Three years’ experience in contract guard services field preferred.
Must possess or be able to obtain (within 6 months) of employment the Private Security Manager License.
Required Special Skills/Knowledge, Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills, as well as the maturity and ability to deal with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company required.
Knowledge of federal, state or local regulations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications required.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion required.
Ability to read and write in English and use arithmetic skills accurately to complete daily paperwork required.
Accuracy and attention to detail required.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, and customers required.
Valid driver’s license.
Projects a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company.
Ability to work hours outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required.
Sits for 6-8 hours per day
Primary duties indoors, may be required to respond outdoors in emergency
Types and reads on a computer.
Communicates in-person, by telephone and written correspondence.
Stands, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls.
Occasional running, including running up stairs carrying heavy emergency equipment weighing 25lbs or more and/or other emergency supplies.
