OVERVIEW OF JOB As our Director of Physical Security you will plan, develop, and manage the overall security operations to include physical security, workplace violence prevention, asset protection, and emergency preparedness and response programs and strategies for the organization. You will do this by developing policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure personnel, property, resources, and assets are protected from injury, damage, or other forms of loss. You will periodically conduct security assessments for Home Campus, Affiliated Sites, and non-campus facilities. You will ensure security arrangements for organizational events. You will assess threats to human capital and lead Boys Town’s threat assessment team. You will implement and oversee crisis management, emergency preparedness and response programs. You will provide security training awareness programs to employees. You will manage and collaborate with IT on security systems. You will develop and maintain programs for the assessments of security related incidents. In this role you will establish and maintain relationships with security consultants, investigative agencies, and law enforcement agencies. You will develop and document standards for measuring efficiency and effectiveness of security program. You will implement risk reduction programs. You will hire, train, and evaluate staff as well as create and maintain departmental budgets. This position also directs the development and implementation of organizational security programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and assets.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR SKILLS • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; master’s degree preferred. • 7 to 10 years of experience in law enforcement, security, and safety, preferably including management. • Available to travel as needed. • Knowledge of strategic security planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources in a non-profit organization. • Proficient in security risk mitigation strategies. • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills. • Ability to think strategically but respond tactically to security issues as they arise. • Computer skills in Microsoft Office. • Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality. • Ability to successfully lead a team of associates. • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification preferred.
