Reporting to the Senior Director of Security and Life Safety you will be responsible for providing direction, risk analysis and subject matter expertise to the security and life safety programs, policies and initiatives for Comcast Center and Comcast Technology Center. With the Senior Director, you will ensure that Liberty Property Trust implements and adheres to industry best practices, code compliance, assesses and manages risk appropriately, and develops and implements security and safety strategy policies and procedures.
Using risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, emergency management guidelines, and serving as the liaison with local, state, and federal authorities as needed, you will assist the Senior Director in presenting comprehensive analysis of the buildings’ safety and security footprint.
Day to day responsibility for security and life safety operations of the Comcast Center and the Comcast Technology Center.
Supervise security officers at both facilities and ensure proper development and training of all third party contract security and life safety personnel.
Assist with the creation of annual and project security budgets and manage the invoicing and AP process for security at Comcast Center and Comcast Technology Center.
Act as liaison with Comcast Corporation security operations for both Comcast Center and the Comcast Technology Center.
Ensure best practice in reference to surveillance equipment, access control, and related security systems and technology. Make recommendations for upgrades when necessary.
Assist with on-going risk mitigation security and safety analysis for properties and provide and implement recommendations for policy and procedure based on tenant demand, property risk and dynamics of external environment.
Manage inquiries/investigations into asset losses, internal or external theft and other impropriety, confidentially and appropriately with external law enforcement when necessary.
Provide support and assist with the creation and maintenance of property life safety programs, asset loss, emergency management, disaster recovery, and safety guidelines and procedures as well as business continuity program.
Perform operational audits of all security and life safety related programs and personnel to ensure emergency situation response policies are consistent with LPT policies and local first responder practices.
Coordinate multiple stakeholder security operations at Comcast Center and Comcast Technology Cemter by establishing necessary relationships, coordinating group meetings and addressing relevant topics such as emergency response, first amendment activity and others with constituents.
Meet regularly with property management staff to ensure policy and procedure are being followed as intended and address any issues that may exist.
Ensure all life safety programs, inspections, certificates, security records, etc. are maintained in an efficient manner, up to date and in full legal/regulatory compliance.
Assist property managers in the review of life safety and physical security contract specifications, and make recommendations as necessary.
Represent Liberty at security forums, public, community and governmental meetings.
Liaison with municipal, state, and federal public safety, investigative and regulatory agencies as needed.
Other related duties as required.
8-10 years knowledge of security, life safety, and emergency response best practices. 5 or more years of management or supervisory level law enforcement or security experience is required for this position.
Strong communications and relationship management ability to be able to fortify relationships with tenant, local enforcement, first responders, and other partners.
Strong understanding of security network technology, access control, and video surveillance systems, both how to use it most efficiently and what latest emerging technology is available for use
General understanding of life safety systems of commercial buildings.
Understanding of commercial third party contract security operations; organization, supervision, training, and limits of authority for contract security personnel.
Experience in preparation and review of Standard Operation Procedures and emergency procedures.
Ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Understanding of security network, access control, and video surveillance systems.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to subordinate, peer, and superior levels.
Ability to coach and instruct employees, tenants, and property managers in security and life safety policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of insurance and risk management.
Working knowledge of external regulatory requirements, codes and issues, as well as building codes pertaining to the management of commercial real estate.
Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Bachelor’s Degree in law enforcement, security, or related field required.
Additional relevant certifications in life safety, law enforcement, and security preferred.
