The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Physical Security Department provides services for controlling access to the campus in order to protect the information entrusted by our customers as well as facilitate efficient business operations. Physical Security operations include, but are not limited to: controlling facility access via electronic and physical measures, monitoring incoming and outgoing personnel traffic flow, maintaining badge access control for critical and non-critical areas, maintaining a visitor management system database, monitoring event activities as well as providing security support and assistance as necessary. The department contains two divisions, electronic security and physical security, which work together as a team to provide the best services possible.
The Security Audit Specialist is responsible for ensuring a safe workplace for all employees and visitors by enforcing all security policies and procedures. The incumbent must comprehend written policies and procedures with the intent to enforce them. The incumbent will be required to respond appropriately to requests and/or incidents reported to Physical Security. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of software operating systems, troubleshoot, and perform administrative duties to these systems.
Summary of Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent •Bachelors degree in information systems or a related field preferred •Excellent communication skills, both oral and written •Strong interpersonal skills •Willingness to work any shift (days, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.) •Willingness to stand or sit for extended periods of time while remaining alert and immersed in the details of the position •Proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment •Two years of physical security related experience preferred •Electronic security background beneficial
