Responsible for performing and leading security and investigative functions within assigned region to minimize loss exposure to Cox Communications by investigating all criminal acts against Cox including but not limited internal and external thefts, vandalism, fraud, violence in the workplace, burglary and other intentional criminal or similar acts.
Conducts theft of service, property, and other asset investigations and prepares case reports for conversion and/or prosecution purposes.
Conducts investigations, including but not limited to, theft of telecommunication services, i.e. piracy, the possession, use or sale of illegal equipment; fraud, Identity Theft, credit Card Fraud, Avoidance of payment; damage to property and assaults against Cox employees. Issues cease and desist letters. Testifies in court as required.
Supervises and oversees investigations of Investigators within assigned defined market.
Partners with various departments and may perform disconnects to terminate service, and/or to confiscate Cox equipment, property or other assets used in prosecuting violators for difficult cases.
Minimizes future unauthorized active accounts by recognizing and reporting trends found in the field.
Provides support to system management regarding CCTV, alarm, and security communication equipment use and operation in all Cox facilities. Escalates to outside vendor as appropriate.
Assists with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for CCTV, alarm, security communication systems, contract security guards, card management and alarm handling consistent with region standards for assigned market.
Serves as the liaison to all contract security providers and local law enforcement, coordinates the security providers at all Cox facilities with in assigned market.
Provides training to casual users on equipment/access cards as needed and provides new employee orientation training.
Develops and distributes reports relating to alarm activity and usage of access control system efficiency.
Works with Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) to determine access levels in conjunction with management, inputs access levels based on department operation needs, programs changes, updates and maintains access user profiles.
Partners with Human Resources and other appropriate departments when conducting investigations involving employees and recommends corrective action to appropriate leadership as a result of employee security and/or safety violations.
3 or more years of experience required in related field (i.e. Business, Security, etc.)
Experience utilizing thorough interviewing techniques to conduct independent, thorough investigations in the areas of theft, fraud, violent acts, vandalism, etc., to obtain factual information
Requires strong knowledge of CCTV, alarms and use of covert equipment; MS Office Applications, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
Excellent decision-making, verbal, written, presentation and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization and external contacts
AS/AA or BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Business, Security, Law Enforcement, etc.).
2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred
Experience in telecommunications industry desired.
Knowledge of security processes, i.e. CCTV, alarms and use of covert equipment
Ability to establish and maintain liaison with State, County and local law enforcement agencies
