The Senior Manager for Global Security is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of project staff engaged by IMA World Health and consortium members under a potential USG-funded global health opportunity. The position will report to the Deputy Project Director of the award and will coordinate closely with Corus' Senior Director for Global Security, with partner agencies' security directors, and with country security staff in countries where the project will operate, to assess and mitigate risks to staff and assets, to ensure that project staff is trained and follow agency security procedures, and to track and respond to security incidents affecting project staff or assets as they arise, in alignment with donor and agency requirements. The position requires excellent communication ability and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders and at least 7 years' prior work in international and non-profit security settings. Fluency in French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish or other languages would be an asset although it is not a requirement.

Risk Assessment & Planning
Ensure that on-site security assessments of offices and other premises are conducted, including assessments of physical security measures, visitor control, use of guards, travel security, vehicle security, and assessments of staff knowledge and compliance with security policies and procedures.
Ensure that all countries where the program operates have up-to-date country security management plans.
Staff, Visitor and Facility Safety and Security
Coordinate with country/program staff to implement improvements as necessary to field office security'including identification and contracting of purchased guard services, improvements to physical infrastructure, etc.
Ensure appropriate travel tracking systems are in place
Conduct pre-travel security briefings for the staff or visitors conducting travel overseas.
Incident Tracking and Response
Track security threats and incidents (including any vehicle accidents) that affect program staff or assets and ensure incident reports or vehicle accident reports are submitted to appropriate channels.
Work with country/program leadership to respond to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
Ensure that proposals to external donors include adequate safety and security considerations in project design and budgeting.
In coordination with the security staff of the project consortium members, develop and conduct training/onboarding of new program staff on security policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. (Master's preferred.)
Record of completion of relevant safety and security-related training (e.g. Hostile Environment Awareness Training, Crisis Management Training, or similar workshops or certificate courses on safety and security)
7 years of relevant work experience including prior experience with international NGOs
Experience living and working in developing countries
Knowledge of threat assessment, security awareness, and security management in insecure environments;
Experience in incident reporting, incident mapping, intelligence collation, and analysis functions; setup and execution of incident tracking systems; and design and implementation of communications systems and protocols for incident reporting
Experience with crisis management
Extreme flexibility and ability to multi-task; ability to work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment; and demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding people
High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as social media, ICT, mobile technology, and use of satellite communication equipment, such as satellite phones.
Excellent writing and communication skills, advanced level fluency in English (writing and speaking).
35% international travel, including to insecure and remote environments with limited resources and amenities, physically challenging terrains and climates including high-altitude and high-temperature conditions.
