Job Summary:

The ETSU Department of Computing seeks a tenure-track assistant professor or professor of practice to meet current demand and drive future growth. Ideal candidates will possess a passion for teaching and a willingness to advance the department's research, service, and outreach goals. This is a nine-month position (mid-August through mid-May), with faculty teaching three courses each semester and having an active research and service agenda. Opportunities to conduct independent studies and supervise research and thesis activities are available. Faculty regularly teach Special Topics courses in areas of personal interest. Summer teaching opportunities for additional compensation are available.

Position is contingent upon sufficient funding.

Required Qualifications:

For assistant professor:

• Terminal degree in a position-relevant discipline completed by August 1, 2021.
• Good written and oral English skills.
• Able to begin work August 2021.

For professor of practice:

• Well-qualified professionals with extensive experience in computer security will be considered with a position-relevant undergraduate or masters degree.
• Be distinguished practitioners who have had a major impact on fields important to the Department's teaching and/or external engagement, and who are committed to enhancing ETSU's programs and reputation.
• Have substantial bases of experience, normally of at least 15-20 years, and a significant professional reputation.
• Good written and oral English skills.
• Able to begin work August 2021.
