West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses, is seeking applications for the position(s) of Campus Police Officer (part-time). This part-time position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe atmosphere for faculty, staff, students and visitors by providing police and security services to the WVU Tech campus
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide a safe campus environment.
Work collaboratively with staff, faculty and students.
Enforce all federal, state and University laws, rules, and regulations.
Investigate criminal complaints.
Patrol assigned areas, both during regular work shifts and for special events.
Work Hours: Varies
Pay Grade: 16
Associates degree required in criminal justice or related field or equivalent law enforcement experience (civilian or military)
0-6 months certified law enforcement officer or military law enforcement experience.
Preference given to certified training or completion of this department's field training program.
Valid WV driver's license.
Ability to maintain law enforcement officer certification.
WV Law Enforcement Certification required.
