The Scheduling Administrator is a civilian position who supports the Boston University Public Safety Department, which includes the Boston University Police Department, Boston University Medical Campus Public Safety, NEIDL, and any other units, which are under the purview of the Executive Director of Public Safety. This position manages internal and external issues related to all events and assignments that involve police officer and all public safety administrative scheduling. This position has clerical, billing and data entry responsibilities. This position is responsible for the management of compiling, assigning, and coordinating all overtime and detail assignments for the university community. This includes accounting for the accuracy of all overtime and details performed by police and public safety every payroll period. This position is responsible for coordinating and administering all aspects of the police and public safety department's scheduling system including special event scheduling, personnel records, payroll, absence and attendance records, earned time accruals, organizational management, detail billing, purchasing, business related to employee hires and terminations, other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police or her/his designee. This includes making independent decisions when working with vendors in scheduling and rescheduling events based on department and vendor needs. They must ensure the precise coordination between the department and the University's business system, and confirm that meticulous records are kept. This person must liaise with internal and external customers to forecast events months in advance, work with command staff to receive personnel orders and assist in documenting safety plans for scheduled events, construction work, and any extra worked performed by department personnel. They will develop new processes related to scheduling and billing to maximize department efficiency. They will train new employees in the proper use of scheduling system. Required Skills:
