As a Network Engineer Security you need to know how to:
Develop/monitor basic IDS/IPS rules to identify and/or prevent malicious activity.
Assess threat and vulnerability information from all sources (both internal and external) and promptly apply applicable mitigation techniques initiating indications and warnings. Performs threat and vulnerability assessment and provides subject matter expertise on appropriate threat mitigation.
Provide log/network/malware/device analysis and makes recommendations for remediation of security vulnerability conditions.
Perform vulnerability assessment and confirmation of Internet facing assets using commercial, open source, and custom tools.
Conduct active real-time security monitoring. Security event detection, triage and threat analysis for complex and/or escalated security events.
Perform threat hunting to identify potential information security incidents and escalates information to appropriate staff.
Provide other services as a key member of the Security Operations Center team.

Associateâ™s Degree with four (4) years relevant experience or Bachelorâ™s degree, required.
Minimum of one (1) year of Information Security experience, required.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience such as: firewall administration and support, incident analysis, security architecture, malware research, SOC/CIRC, systems or network engineering or administration, required. The role requires experience in managing and supporting firewall technologies and understanding the security architecture and configurations.
Computer Science, Software & Information Systems, Management Information Systems, preferred. General understanding of HIPAA requirements and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards, preferred.
A technical qualification (preference to technical qualification in security and/or networking realm) such as CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Network +, CCNA, or CCNP, preferred.
Experience with NGFW technologies (CheckPoint, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto), preferred.
