Security Operations Analyst II {S02521P}

Job Summary: Under general supervision, evaluates and manages systems security across the enterprise. Provides direct support to the business and IT staff for security related issues. Areas of concentration include system, network, and account management, authorization and access auditing, network and application vulnerability detection and management, malware incident management, intrusion detection and prevention. Essential Duties: Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution. Works with SEIM tools such as Splunk and Sentinel to provide information for security events. Assists with escalation of security events. Maintains and documents security controls. Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security devices and services. Works with OIT partners to ensure compliance with security policies & procedures. Actively conducts discovery of non-compliant systems or practices and assists with remediation efforts. Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach. Maintains current technical knowledge and skills necessary to support the defined system architecture model. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in cyber security, computer science, information systems or a related field or the equivalent experience. Two (2) years of work experience with identity, network and/or system security operations. Possess information security related certifications. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Experience with SIEM tools like ArcSight, QRadar, Splunk, etc. Experience with automated security tools like Splunk Phantom, Microsoft Cloud App Security, etc. Certifications including CCNA-Security, SSCP, or other DoD Approved 8570 Level II Baseline certifications.
