UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a NIGHT SHIFT, FULL TIME, SECURITY OFFICER. The Security Officer works to maintain campus security and safety through inspection of buildings and grounds. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responds quickly and professionally to emergent and non-emergent situations.
Professionally and swiftly handles violent and escalated individuals posing a threat to others
Calls in-house resources, Seattle Police Department, Seattle Fire Department or hospital leadership when additional help is needed in an emergency
Provides visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by performing interior and exterior patrols of the hospital
Checks locks, doors, windows, and unsafe conditions
Responds to needs of all patients, employees and visitors with customer service as a primary focus
Passes on all needed information to staff and management by written report or email
Sets an example by following and enforcing hospital and departmental policies
May be required to drive an automobile (or other vehicle) as a function of job
Physical capacity to perform duties; possession of a valid motor vehicle driver's license; no previous felony convictions
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of one year military, security, firefighter or police officer experience
