Montreat College
Montreat College’s cutting-edge and visionary Cybersecurity program prepares students to solve the cybersecurity issues and concerns faced today in many corporate and government environments. This program’s foundation is skills required to succeed in those environs: a combination of technical skills, communication, teamwork, ethics, and professionalism. In 2017, the Center for Cybersecurity Education and Leadership at Montreat College received the designation of Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). Since receiving the CAE-CD designation, the college has added to its offerings a fully online BS in Cybersecurity, undergraduate and graduate certificates in cybersecurity, an Associate of Applied Science in cybersecurity, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in cybersecurity management. Montreat College also launched the Carolina Cyber Center (C3) to leverage the tremendous progress in cyber education and focus on workforce development and training. Our mission is to provide excellence in education and training for Western North Carolina and beyond. In 2020, C3 now boasts numerous industry partners who see the need for training, certifications, and another pathway into high-demand positions in cybersecurity. Location: Montreat, North Carolina Start Date: Negotiable Summary: Montreat College seeks a highly qualified candidate to contribute to the leadership of the Cybersecurity program. Candidates will desire to serve the college, the community, and the industry as a professor of Cybersecurity. Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for teaching in the traditional and online Cybersecurity degree programs, according to the load specified in the Faculty Handbook. The successful candidate will assist with departmental and academic projects, engage in curriculum development and modification, and contribute to the success and dynamic growth of the Cybersecurity major at Montreat College. Additionally, the chosen candidate must demonstrate teaching excellence in both the online and face-to-face classroom, supported by relevant IT/Cybersecurity industry experience and certifications. Qualifications: Successful candidate will be a recognized leader in Cybersecurity who demonstrates a professional and personal commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Montreat College. That commitment includes agreement with the published Statement of Faith found here: https://www.montreat.edu/about/mission/. The successful candidate will also demonstrate support for Christian liberal arts education and the specific ability to integrate faith and the discipline of Cybersecurity in a compelling, thoughtful manner. Teaching excellence and a willingness to serve the broader college community through service and committee work are also expected. Preference will be given to candidates who possess publications in the field of IT/Cybersecurity with the potential for continued scholarly work. Education/Experience: Required: An earned master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security/Assurance or Cybersecurity. Related experience in the industry
