The Security Manager has oversite of security personnel and implementation of the hospitalâs Security Management Plan.Â Ensures delivery of quality services; regulatory compliance, manages operations efficiently and effectively to achieve service and department objectives.
The Manager of Security Servicers primary objective will be maintaining a safe, secure and threat free environment. The manager shall maintain the framework for the successful implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive security program.Â She/He will also serve as an integral part of the Environment of Care Committee, Emergency Preparedness and Threat Management team, as directed.

This position requires the full understanding of security and parking operations consistent with the mission of Keck Medicine of USC.Â It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the mission and values. Supports Keck Medicine of USC strategic plan, goals and key performance indicators.
This position is assigned the responsibility and as instructed by the Director of Security Services to proactively take any and all steps necessary to eliminate any unsafe conditions or threats, which could result in personal injury, loss of assets or property damage in a manner, which is consistent with the mission, and philosophy of the Keck Medicine of USC.
Minimum Education:â¢High School Diploma or equivalent required.â¢Bachelorâs Degree (Preferably with emphasis in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Criminology, Communication or Business Administration). -Education may be substituted by 3 or more years of Leadership experience.Minimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢Must have at least three (4) years of experience in the security, parking, emergency management or related field â¢Minimum of two (2) years in supervisory or managerial level required (preferably in healthcare environment). â¢Two (2) years of progressively responsible security systems experience is required.â¢Preferred field of expertise in hospital and clinical security.â¢Experience, knowledge and/or training in safety, fire protection, civil disturbance, emergency preparedness procedures and planning, C.P.R./AED, Security and Safety issues and standards as set forth by the Department of Health Services and The Joint Commission is preferred. â¢Understanding of CAL-OSHA, CDPH, HIPPA, and/or Joint Commission (TJC), Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) hospital emergency codes. â¢Must have the ability to plan, organize and implement administrative and operational programs and procedures, which includes the development of budgets.â¢Must have knowledge of and have experience with parking and transportation systems and its related issues or problems.â¢Must have Leadership, Administrative, Planning, Organizing, Prioritizing, Interpersonal/Relations skills. â¢Computer literate and use of personal computer and computer program software.â¢Thorough knowledge about all security equipment and security operations.â¢Attention to details, achievement orientation, positive attitude, and self-motivation skills.â¢Very high internal customer focused orientation with strong customer service and service delivery orientation.â¢Oral and written communications skills, including the excellent written and spoken English.â¢Knowledge of Healthcare operations, management and human resources administration.â¢Ability to synthesize business/financial data and develop solutions.â¢Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.â¢Ability to be an effective leader and member of teams.â¢Ability to be proactive, take initiative and achieve results.Required License/Certification:â¢Valid current California driverâs license is required. â¢Successful completion of approved workplace violence training program required.(Training certification approved and provided the hospital in compliance with California Health & Safety Code 1257.8 and SB1299)â¢BLS â Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association required.â¢BSIS California Guard Certification Card required and must be maintained by renewal before expiration date.â¢IAHSS-International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (Basic Certification) required within 6 months of hireâ¢IAHSS-International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (Supervisory training) required within 1 year of hire.â¢FEMA Certifications required for: -FEMA-IS-100-Intro to Incident Command certification; -FEMA-IS-200-ICS for single resources certificate; -FEMA-IS-700-National Incident Management System certificate. â¢Fire and Safety Certification -If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
