Security Officer – Seasonal Employment Opportunity

April – October 2022 

Hy-Line Cruises provides high speed ferry services to/from Hyannis and the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard seven days a week. Hy-Line Cruises also has harbor and canal tours, and two fishing vessels. Security Officers are responsible for providing security and protection of passengers, company employees and its properties in a courteous and professional manner. Positions available in Hyannis and on Nantucket. The Security Officer reports to the Director and Shift Supervisor                                              

Position Responsibilities:

Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work is primarily outside in a marine environment regulated by USCG, TSA, and Homeland Security.

• Patrol property to protect company employees, property damage and/or thefts, fire, unauthorized entry, and other associated offenses
• Respond to all emergency calls and provide any assistance to include first aid, scene security, preliminary investigation, contacting local, state and federal authorities who may have jurisdiction to the incident
• Conduct searches of baggage and persons consistent with the Code of Federal Regulations
• Maintain order and discipline of all passengers entering and exiting the transportation facility as well as boarding lines to the vessels
• Secure firearms and ammunition of licensed passengers and prepare any associated documentation.
• Communicate with supervisors to ensure all essential information is received timely.
• Prepare daily logbook entries for all unusual occurrences

Possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

A valid Massachusetts License to Carry (L.T.C.) permit is preferred, but not required.

Obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (T.W.I.C.) card.
