Reporting to the Supervisor of Security Services, the incumbent will:
- Install, modify, maintain, test and upgrade electronic security systems such as intrusion alarm devices, access control equipment and CCTV systems - Design, manufacture, test, and bench repair integrated electronic circuitry - Assist with project management duties in relation to the design, installation, and commissioning of electronic security systems as well as project supervision - Perform field audits and review existing security systems, as well as provide and maintain complete inventory control of the systems - Respond to regular and emergency repairs for electronic security systems such as access control, intrusion alarms and CCTV - Provide training or instruction on security systems to Regional Staff and outside agencies, contractors, consultants, etc.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Electronic Engineering Technologist diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience or a related discipline - Membership with ASIS International or eligibility for membership would be considered an asset - Extensive knowledge of all aspects of security including intrusion alarms, access control and CCTV - Knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association standards, the Ontario and National Building Codes, Ontario Provincial Electrical Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act - Experience working with Enterprise level access control and intrusion systems, high-security key systems, advanced CCTV VMS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word & Excel) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, project management and organizational skills - Ability to work either independently with minimal supervision or within a large group - A valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's Licence
