The PCA is an essential member of the health care team responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. The PCA maintains an awareness of their patient population needs and scheduling requirements, provide ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients, and prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members consistently. Our PCA's play a crucial part in assisting the team in meeting patient and family goals. Supervision and direction is provided by the Registered Nurse. All Patient Care Assistants (PCA) receive an additional $1.00/hour for their PA Certified Nursing Assistant Certification. Night Shift differentials are by PSH HR Policy = $2.50/hour.
High school diploma or GED
Current PA certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Basic computer skills (Windows preferred)
Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions
Must be able to communicate effectively with hospital personnel and patient population
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members
Able to prioritize duties and work as a team member
Able to stand constantly; walk frequently; sit occasionally
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally
Able to push /pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping
