• IT security audit compliance;
• IT emergency response staffing;
• Maintaining a knowledge base of College policies and services related to IT and cybersecurity; and
• Ensuring the College's compliance with all Mason, state, and federal IT policies.

• Directly supervise the work of the College-level IT staff (lab manager, web developers, networking, video-conferencing, classroom, and desktop support technical staff);
• Identify IT skills required to perform work in units and address deficiencies;
• Coordinate staff training to improve operations and find educational opportunities to promote the development of team members;
• Recommend appropriate staffing levels for the College;
• Coordinate IT endeavors with the greater Mason community. Represent COS on university-wide IT committees and advocate for the College's interests;
• Liaise with central ITS and other campus units;
• Support research computing initiatives;
• Liaise between technical and non-technical users;
• Provide leadership, guidance, and management for all of the College's IT matters;
• Provide customer service response for incidents such as system failure, vulnerability assessment, and remediation;
• Help faculty with system recommendations, to purchase and configure new systems; and
• Oversee the IT, equipment, and classroom budget and management processes for the College.

• Master's degree in technology or management-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Knowledge of federal and state requirements for privacy and security;
• Knowledge of current cybersecurity issues and protocols;
• Demonstrated knowledge of computing and web technologies;
• Proven experience managing servers in an Enterprise environment (Windows or Linux);
• Ability to work with unusual solutions for research projects;
• Advanced organizational skills and persistent attention to detail;
• Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously;
• Experience working in supervisory and project management roles;
• Demonstrated customer service skills and proven ability to work with individuals at all levels.

• Knowledge of privacy and security policies, including CAP CLIA certification;
• Experience configuring and supporting classroom technology;
• Experience with database management and development, web design, and computer programming;
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and configuration management tools (e.g., KVM);
• Experienced in compliance and requirements for attaining/retaining Security Certification (CISSP or GIAC GSLC preferred);
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring technologies;
• Experience working with research computing;
• Experience in a university setting;
• Experience in consequential information technology and cybersecurity assurance/assignments.
