The Security Department seeks a highly motivated individual willing to take on an active role in the department. The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is to demonstrate a clear comprehension of/and commitment to the mission and philosophy of All Saints’ Episcopal School by protecting the persons, property and privacy of the All Saints’ Episcopal School’s stakeholders and their guests.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:00pm
Position Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Life Safety Manager
Responsibilities:
Ensure the security, safety and well-being of the School and stakeholders by providing campus patrol, access control, record keeping, and report writing
Will learn the access control, video surveillance, and alarm monitoring capabilities as monitored by the Security Department. Will also troubleshoot possible network or low voltage issues as needed
Participate in and plan for Security training as deemed necessary by the Life Safety Manager or as required by the School
Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as deemed necessary by each situation
Maintain good relationships with the public, students, faculty and staff as well as local police officers and first responders, ensuring excellent customer service and servant leadership
Comply with all state regulations that apply to a “Level III Security Officer”
Expected to work overtime hours to cover large campus events such as football games, commencement, etc.
Individual will train in all areas of response to crisis including active shooter, fire, inclement weather, shelter in place, lockdown, and evacuations
Train in First Aid and CPR
Making a personal commitment to learn All Saint’s mission, discovering ways to contribute individually and collaboratively to our distinctive learning environment
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least 3+ years of related experience
High School Diploma or GED ; college hours preferred
Must pass a preliminary psychological evaluation
Excellent customer service and servant leadership skills
Valid driver’s license with excellent driving records
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to quickly learn and utilize security related computer applications
Availability to work overtime as needed for campus events, games, ect.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and basic keyboard / PC operations
Capable of following complex instructions
Must pass The School’s screening policies including drug screens, criminal background check, and a psych evaluation.
Physical Qualifications:
Maintain emotional control under moderate to heavy stress
Walking sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time with frequent stooping and bending
Applicants must be able to stand for long time-periods while sometimes working in inclement weather.
Occasionally lifts or moves items ±50 pounds
Operate a motor vehicle
Irregular work shifts and hours
