Protects staff, patients, and visitors from harm. Implements and monitors the security management plan. Addresses security issues concerning patients, visitors, personnel, and property. Investigates and reports on security incidents. Responds to emergency situations. Controls access to and egress from sensitive areas. Provides vehicle and pedestrian traffic control. Performs security patrols, and monitors a variety of technical systems including access control and CCTV. Demonstrates customer service excellence. ** For those officers working Communications desk.

- Require successful completion of Armed Officer Psychological Evaluation (AOPE) administered by a Board-certified Police Psychologist.
- Require a favorable driving record and background check.
- Require flexibility in work schedule with the ability to work on other shifts when needed.
- Require the following IAHSS Certifications within the designated timeframe: - Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) within ninety (90) days from hire/promotion date. - Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) within thirty (30) days from date CHSO certification is obtained. Note: Maintaining active status of lower-level certifications will not be required once higher-level certification has been obtained.
- Require the following State of Florida Security Officer Licensure within the designated timeframe: - Class D - Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date. - Class G - Armed Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date. Note: All licensures must be maintained active throughout employment.
