DescriptionScionHealth is recruiting for a Senior Director, Corporate Security and Emergency Management to join our Law Department. Qualified candidates from the Louisville and Nashville metro area will be considered.
Summary:
The Senior Director, Corporate Security and Emergency Management provides leadership and direction to support all facilities efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment. Reviews and develops compliance and best practice standards related to the following Environment of Care (EOC) chapters: life safety, security, fire safety, emergency management, hazardous materials, and related standards in preparation for accreditation by the Joint Commission. Responsible for overseeing safety, security and emergency management aspects of facility surveys and providing education and guidance to ensure hospitals maintain compliance with local, national, and federal codes & regulations.
Essential Functions:

- Develops and implements policies and strategies of corporate security and emergency management, including but not limited to, crises incident response and management, incident investigations, workplace violence, contract security service management, physical security standards, access control, and video systems.
- Plans, directs and coordinates the development of short and long-range objectives for life safety, security, fire safety, emergency management, hazardous materials, and related standards.
- Works with facility leadership and staff to prepare for the Joint Commission Inspection (JCI) and other inspections by regulatory agencies such as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and state agencies.
- Performs or oversees survey readiness assessments to verify conditions of compliance at each facility.
- Reviews written inspection results, providing recommendations on corrective action plans and verifying corrected deficiencies.
- Consults with facilities and Support Center staff on resolving issues or concerns with specific items such as security assessments, prevention strategies, and threat assessments.
- Provides guidance and recommendations on enterprise emergency preparedness polices and activities and serve as Incident commander for the Support Center Incident Response Team.
- Develops and maintain liaisons with municipalities and county departments and remains informed of federal, state, and local regulations affecting public safety and healthcare.
- Serves as the Support Center subject matter expert on use of force, verbal de-escalation, and physical intervention; assists with incident investigations and provides guidance and training as necessary.
- Regular and reliable attendance.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- In depth knowledge of premises security, including use of force, verbal de-escalation and physical intervention.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards with respect to life safety, security, fire safety, emergency management, hazardous materials.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe.
- Skilled at working independently and as part of a team.
- Exercises discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
- Approximate percent of time required to travel: Up to 50%
QualificationsQualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in security, emergency management or a related field
