Job Description:
At Regions, the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (Deputy CISO) is a key member of the Cyber Security leadership team and assists the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to define and execute on the cybersecurity roadmap and operational plan, including strategy, staffing pipelines, control implementation/maintenance, financial planning, and reporting. This role will represent Cyber Security in a variety of settings, acting on behalf of the CISO as appropriate, while leading multiple, diverse teams of Cyber Security professionals.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide strategic guidance, oversight, and leadership for the Cyber Security group in a variety of settings: individual coaching, collaboration/consensus building, identifying and overcoming obstacles to sound operations, and consistent execution of cybersecurity priorities
Assists CISO to define and execute on the cybersecurity roadmap and operational plan, including strategy, staffing pipelines, control implementation/maintenance, financial planning, and reporting
Represents Cyber Security in a variety of settings, acting on behalf of the CISO as appropriate, e.g., committees, vendor relationships, public-private partnerships, etc.
Manages tactical escalations for cybersecurity events, business leader concerns, and trends of interest
Manages multiple cybersecurity teams which may change over time through reporting assignments to provide the Deputy CISO with full exposure to the department
Forges and maintains strong, collaborative relationships for effective cybersecurity controls (technical and procedural) across all stakeholders: information technology, business lines, risk management, internal audit, etc.
Provide coaching, mentorship and development of cybersecurity talent
Maintains knowledge of industry and market trends and collaborate with teams to incorporate necessary changes
Acts as a key resource for leading complex Cyber Security projects and initiatives as assigned by the CISO
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
This is a single incumbent position.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and twelve (12) years cyber security, risk management and/or technology experience
Or High School Diploma and sixteen (16) years cyber security, risk management and/or technology experience
Five (5) years management experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively apply risk principles to challenging business situations
Experience in application security, vulnerability testing and development of risk appetite
Experience evaluating cyber security controls and providing guidance for platform or distributed cloud computing platforms
Preferences
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Skills and Competencies
Ability to be comfortable delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding
Deep understanding of cloud security platforms (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
Excellent influencing and problem resolution skills
Exceptional executive presentation and communication skills
Knowledge of Windows, Midrange and Mainframe Platforms with emphasis on security and access controls
Proven ability to build strong partner relationships
Strong leadership skills
