Job Description:
At Regions, the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) is a key member of the Cyber Security leadership team and work closely with the line of business Technology Officers. This role provides overarching support to a business group while developing a deep understanding of the business to have specialized information security risk-based discussions. This relationship will ensure a focus on the right risk priorities while providing guidance on information security topics, policies, and controls. Ultimately this role is a trusted, subject matter expert (SME) to stakeholders on the development, implementation, and maintenance of information security for the line of business (LOB).
Primary Responsibilities
Provides advisory and oversight for changes within business lines related to security while leveraging the information security SMEs and operational response as needed
Advises LOB management on risk issues related to cyber security and recommends actions in support of the bank's wider risk management and compliance programs
Monitors cyber security trends internal and external to the bank and keeps LOB and software engineering leadership informed
Collaborates with Risk teams to support their activities and helping them to continue developing processes and solutions
Provides guidance and advocacy regarding the prioritization of LOB and technology investments that impact cyber security
Contributes to the ongoing cyber security initiatives and improvements development, implementation, and maintenance of cyber security for the line of business LOB
Partners with the cyber organization to ensure that cyber requirements and initiatives are communicated, discussed, and tracked in an effective, consistent, and timely way
Conducts routine liaison coordination across the risk partners and technology groups to remediate cyber issues showing red, green, or amber dashboards
Coordinates and drives remediation of ad hoc issues and assist partners to reach a resolution in line with cyber baselines and standards
Supports the triage process with the client and helps them understand the cyber support structure
Participates in senior LOB specific Risk Management and Business Continuity routines
Participates in key operating routines to drive cyber security risk strategy
Establishes and maintains a network of stakeholders and partners
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years cyber security and technology experience
Or High School Diploma and twelve (12) years cyber security and technology experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively apply risk principles to challenging business situations
Experience in application security, vulnerability testing and development of risk appetite
Experience evaluating cyber security controls and providing guidance for platform or distributed cloud computing platforms
Experience with information security for No SQL, Big Data, and unstructured data stores
Preferences
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Skills and Competencies
Ability to be comfortable delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding
Deep understanding of cloud security platforms (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
Excellent influencing and problem resolution skills
Exceptional executive presentation and communication skills
Knowledge of Windows, Midrange and Mainframe Platforms with emphasis on security and access controls
Proven ability to build strong partner relationships
Strong leadership skills
