Position Summary: The Manager - Security Operations is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and functions of the MultiCare Health System Security Department at all sites across the system. This position is responsible for the primary mission of the Security Department; protection of people first, property second. The Manager-Security Operations ensures a safe environment on all campuses, in all facilities through continuous monitoring of conditions, risk assessments and collaboration with other MHS leaders. This position is responsible for developing and implementing action plans and solutions to safety and security sensitive issues which are discovered. The Manager-Security Operations ssures high standards are maintained for all officers at all sites and services are delivered in accordance with MultiCares values based behaviors. The Manager-Security Operations actively engages with employees to accomplish a high perception of staff safety and confidence in the Security Department and the organization through education and best practice actions that assure a safe environment for all. This position provides assistance to the Director by performing other duties as needed or assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Three years experience in security supervision or management Five years experience in police, military police, or security work, preferably in a health care setting
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field required, four (4) years of experience will be considered in lieu of the degree Currently have certification as a hospital security officer through the International Association for hospital Security and Safety Foundation or receive within the first ninety days of employment CHPA Certification (Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator) through the IAHSS (International Association For Hospital Security and Safety) desired Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
