Here’s the Gist:
The Security Systems Technology Specialist is a member of the Security & Emergency Management team reporting to the Security Systems Manager. The Security Systems Technology Specialist also supports all matters involving the Security and Emergency department on an as-needed basis.
The Day-to-Day:
Become a Subject Matter Expert in all department software’s, including conducting trainings as necessary. Software’s include: Access Control, CCTV, Visitor Management, Incident Management.
Support the Security Systems team and vendors with device programming and configuration, including installations and troubleshooting as required.
Assist as needed with department administrative inquiries.
Represent the Security & Emergency Management department when conducting audits/reports.
Conduct all necessary coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors.
Work with stakeholders to routinely customize, update, and test software solutions.
Maintain database for ensuring all contractors meet requirements to work on-site, globally.
Identify, monitor, report, and escalate related issues to achieve timely response.
Consistently seek improvements in reporting, automation and utilizing new technology.
Produce recurring summary reports to management as required.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
General understanding of security systems: Intrusion detection; physical access control (card reader) systems; CCTV and associated networking.
Experienced with Microsoft 365 Environment; Office, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
Proficient knowledge of TCP/IP and local area networking.
Must be able to evaluate situations and demonstrate sound decision-making under stress.
Ability to effectively engage with all stakeholders and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Must have strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
Must be a self-starter and perform with minimal guidance, including after-hours when needed.
Must be able to learn and apply new skills, seeking continual personal/professional improvement.
Flexibility to travel up to 10% annually, including international.
Desired Skills / Achievements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, or related field.
Advanced understanding of Microsoft 365 Environment.
Familiar in API development/integration, working with RESTful APIs and other API protocols.
Strong skills in Microsoft SQL Server, including ability to write complex queries, perform data analysis, and troubleshoot database issues.
Familiar with programming languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, or C# with solid understanding of software development.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) certification.
Experience working in a regulated environment.
