Job Description
Montgomery College has an immediate need for a full-time Cybersecurity Laboratory Program Manager in the Science, Engineering, and Technology area. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, grade 31 position. Under supervision and/or direction, the Cybersecurity Laboratory Program Manager plans and directs the programs and activities of the cybersecurity lab. The incumbent also coordinates cybersecurity lab operations between campuses and identifies, develops, and sustains partnerships with industry, government, and educational institutions in order to collaborate on cybersecurity, networking, and provide opportunities and activities for students in the cybersecurity field.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensures that the cybersecurity lab supports the dynamic cybersecurity and networking curricula.
- Oversees and ensures the robustness of cybersecurity lab equipment and software to support outreach activities including cyber-competitions and training opportunities developed in collaboration with industry partners.
- Maintains knowledge of the rapidly emerging trends in cybersecurity and translate those trends and needs into educational programs.
- Coordinates the cybersecurity lab operations between campus locations and in cooperation with the area dean, department chairs, and faculty.
- Assists in the development and implementation of programs and activities.
- Conducts outreach to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) to develop cybersecurity activities for MCPS students.
- Conducts outreach to industry, government, and educational institutions to assess needs and opportunities for partnerships.
- Researches opportunities and supports efforts to seek grant funding that supports the Cybersecurity, Networking, and Computer Science programs. Participates in grant writing and administration.
- Markets the College's cybersecurity lab and program to increase awareness, enrollment, and collaborations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Four years of experience in information technology education or training program management, preferably including cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and cybersecurity education, including knowledge of emerging trends in the cybersecurity field.
- Working knowledge of the mission of higher education and information technology at the College or other higher education setting, grant proposals and grant-funded project management principles, governmental and community resources, and professional organizations related to cybersecurity programs.
- Skilled at forging partnerships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including presenting technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, interpersonal relations, and oral and written communications.
- Ability to prioritize work and produce and interpret program metrics.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement program activities, strategies, plans, and events.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

Hiring Range $74,445 to $96,768 annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity. Please include a complete resume including all relevant and related work experience.
