Position Summary

Responsible for protection of the campuses and patrol of all areas either by foot, bike or motor vehicle. Assist police officers in enforcing university policy, city, state and federal laws. Protect person and property and render assistance to all University faculty, staff, students and guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

(1) Take incident and injury reports.
(2) Enforce university rules and regulations.
(3) Enforce parking regulations on the campuses and write university roadway citations.
(4) Patrol university property only and maintain an individual activity log.
(5) Inspect the interior and exterior of buildings; report any security or safety problems.
(6) Render assistance to persons as circumstances necessitate. Perform motorist assists, such as lockouts and jump starts.
(7) Traffic control during accidents and special events.
(8) Perform security function and crowd control as special events.
(9) Assist the police officers in the performance of their duties.
(10) Ensure that buildings and gates are locked and unlocked at appropriate times.
(11) Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years experience in security or related field

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledgeable of local ordinances, federal and state laws. competent in Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, jump, climb steps, complete physical safety training.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.

Licenses/Certifications

Valid Michigan driver's license in good standing.

Salary/Pay Information

$17.52 per hour
