Job Summary: | Marist College welcomes applicants for an exciting opportunity as a Cybersecurity Fellow. This position will be full-time temporary within the Cybersecurity Team in Marist IT. The Cybersecurity Fellow will report directly to the Director of Cybersecurity. The selected candidate will gain real-world experience in day-to-day cybersecurity operations by participating in dedicated small and mid-sized projects, contributing to cross-functional IT projects, collaborating with disparate IT functions, and providing customer service to internal and external clients. This is an excellent opportunity to gain cybersecurity experience in a fast-paced and stimulating department. Minimum Qualifications: | This opportunity is available to recent graduates who have successfully earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a major or minor in Cybersecurity. |
Essential Functions: | In this position, you will perform the following functions: - Manage operational Cybersecurity risk and facilitate completion and closure outstanding issues
- Vulnerability management for patching and hardening in-house systems and platforms
- Serve as liaison between the Cybersecurity team and other functional IT units
- Participate in special projects under the oversight of the Director of Cybersecurity
- Support day-to-day activities of the Cybersecurity Analyst
A day in the life of the Cybersecurity Fellow may look like: - Monitor existing platforms to identify current and potential Cybersecurity threats
- Monitor and report on the progress of vulnerability remediation
- Attend cybersecurity team meetings and Marist IT project meetings
The Cybersecurity Fellow will also have the unique opportunity to propose an idea for a key project, which they will get to lead under the management of the Cybersecurity team. |
