This position will perform daily security duties at the headquarters security desk. The lead security officer has primary oversight and coordination of contract guards.
Essential Functions
Serve as lead security officer with oversight responsibility, and training of contracted guard services.
Perform daily security duties for the Headquarters building during the standard business day and for other facilities as required. Secure property from unauthorized access, unsafe practices or unwanted behavior.
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of visitors, vendors, and members to administer proper building access control and security of the premises. Screen all visitors for proper authorization before permitting entry.
Monitor designated systems and respond to any potential security or safety concerns in accordance with established procedures.
Review system alarms and collect additional information to determine course of action.
Monitor lobby for unwanted behavior and assess intervention methods for de-escalation.
Review completed guard shift reports and review for any safety concerns.
Observe and report to manager any irregular activity that may create security or safety risks.
Assist employees and visitors as needed, including directions and general guidance regarding locations throughout the facility.
Provide a high level of service, knowledge and dedication to site staff, visitors, members, guests and contractors. Work closely with the Manager to effectively meet the needs of the organization.
Remain informed of daily company events through website, bulletins, intranet releases, and communication with key personnel.
Assist and coordinate emergency response for medical, fire, or other incidents.

Sr Manager, HSE and Security: Reports to, receives direction and guidance from.
Member Services: Provide support while maintaining a calm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
Chugach Staff: Provides assistance with security related concerns.
Chugach Board of Directors: Interacts with and assists as necessary.
External
Contracted Security Guards: provide direction to and monitors services provided.
General Public/Members/Guests: Interact with, provide assistance and direction.
Security Contractor: Provide feedback regarding security guards stationed at Chugach.

Coordinate and direct contracted guards.

High School diploma or equivalent, required. Associate degree in related field, preferred. Additional related courses in security practices ,desired.
Experience
Five (5) years’ experience of progressively responsible security, law enforcement or related positions, including security personnel supervision, scheduling and post order preparation, required.
Certification
CPR, First Aid and AED certification required within six months of hire. Valid driver license, required. Obtain and maintain CPI Nonviolent Crisis Training and De-escalation certificates.
Substitution
Additional education in security, incident command or similar field may substitute for the experience requirement, on a year-to-year basis.
