Metro State University, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, is seeking to hire two faculty members in Cybersecurity.These are fulltime probationary (tenure-track) positions within the Department of Computer Science and Cybersecurity and will start on August 12, 2024

Responsibilities
Faculty members are expected to:
Demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and/or Digital Forensics effectively to a diverse, contemporary student population and contribute to meaningful assessment of student learning.
Engage in scholarly activity, creative achievement, and/or research.
Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study.
Contribute to student growth and development through advising and assistance.
Engage in service to the university and community.
Demonstrate a commitment to serving a diverse student body by delivering a student-centered education and using approaches that support equitable outcomes for all students.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a master's degree in the specified discipline(s), with enrollment in a doctoral program for fields in which the doctoral degree is the terminal degree. Doctoral program must be successfully completed within 5 years to meet the requirement for tenure.
Demonstrated potential for success in teaching and professional service activities.
A plan for scholarly activity, creative achievement, and/or research in the specified discipline(s), or related disciplines.
Effective Communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate with a variety of persons and groups.
Demonstrated ability and desire to work collegially with faculty and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds, and at an institution with a culturally, economically, and linguistically diverse workforce and student population.
Specific Technical, Computer, and/or Software skills (as needed).
Preferred Qualifications:
An earned PhD. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Candidates who will finish their PhD before August 9, 2024, will be considered.
Ability to teach variety of undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and Digital Forensics, such as Computer Networking and Security, Computer and Mobile Forensics, Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing, Cryptography, Digital Evidence Analysis, Object-Oriented Design, Algorithm Analysis and Design, and Distributed and Parallel Programming.
Ability and willingness to teach one or more graduate level courses such as Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering, Secure Programming/Scripting, Cloud and IoT Security, Industrial Control Systems/SCADA Security, Digital Forensics, Advanced Cryptography, Cellular and Wireless Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.
Ability to develop and start a successful applied research program in cutting edge areas of computing and cybersecurity.
Demonstrated effectiveness teaching at a post-secondary level.
Experience developing course curricula at a post-secondary institution.
Demonstrated contributions to assessment of student learning at a post-secondary institution.
Professional development and/or expertise in culturally responsive pedagogy, anti-racist pedagogy, and/or universal design.
Experience as an academic advisor for students at post-secondary institution.
