Santa Monica Seafood Company a leading seafood processor and distributor is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Manager of Safety, Security, and Loss Prevention to oversee and enhance our company-wide risk management strategies.
Our multi-state operations include 9 California locations as well as Baltimore, MD, Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, and El Paso and Lubbock, TX. Locations range from seafood processing and distribution centers to cross-docks, to retail markets and cafes offering premium alcoholic beverages and other fine products. This diversity in facility and fleet operations brings exciting safety and loss prevention challenges.
This is an hands-on opportunity to put your personal signature on an organization that has enjoyed rapid growth in customers, plant expansions, and employee headcount. It will be a key member of the management team with a decided amount of influence.
Job Overview
The Corporate Manager of Safety, Security, and Loss Prevention will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive programs to ensure the safety of our employees, security of our assets, and prevention of losses across all our facilities and operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in risk management within the food processing and distribution industry.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement company-wide safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
Design and oversee security measures to protect company assets, including physical infrastructure, inventory, and intellectual property.
Create and manage loss prevention strategies to minimize shrinkage, theft, and fraud throughout the supply chain.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments across all facilities to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and policy violations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and government agencies to ensure legal compliance and support investigations when necessary.
Develop and deliver training programs for employees on safety procedures, security protocols, and loss prevention techniques.
Analyze data and prepare reports on safety incidents, security breaches, and loss trends to inform strategic decision-making.
Manage the department budget and allocate resources effectively across multiple locations.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in safety, security, and loss prevention to continuously improve company practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety, security, and loss prevention roles, with at least 2 years in a management capacity
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and food safety standards
- Strong understanding of security systems and loss prevention technologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in data analysis and report writing
- Willingness to travel to multiple locations as needed
