This is a part-time third shift (12am - 8am) position with a minimum of 20 hours a week. Reports directly to Ohio State University Police Sergeant. Provides safety and security services; patrols buildings and grounds; responds to fire alarms; investigates accidents, regulates traffic and parking, subject to emergency call as needed; first or second shift schedule. Makes reports to authorities (e.g. calls police, locates fires, observes weather conditions;) nights/weekends; works in outside weather conditions. Valid Ohio Driver's License required.
This is a shared services position with The Ohio State University-Mansfield Campus and North Central State College. Part-time employees receive 50% tuition remission for North Central State College course work

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or GED. Must be able to walk long distances. Must be able to walk 3-4 flights of stairs in one instance. Must be able to lift 35 pounds unassisted.
This position will be paid $15.39 hourly.

FUNCTION Security promotes a safe university environment, establishes processes to be followed in the event of an emergency, provides safety programs that protect the institution and provides safe conditions that comply with laws and regulations.
SUB-FUNCTION Security Enforcement patrols all aspects of security and public safety. Serves as the first line of enforcement for the department to ensure a safe, secure environment for staff, visitors, students, and patients.
