Job Summary:
Under general supervision, evaluates and manages systems security across the enterprise. Provides direct support to the business and IT staff for security related issues. Areas of concentration include system, network, and account management, authorization and access auditing, network and application vulnerability detection and management, malware incident management, network access control, and intrusion detection and prevention.
Essential Duties:
Assists with account, system, and network incident investigations, determining the cause of the security incident and preserving evidence for potential legal action. Reviews security violation reports and investigates possible security exceptions. Assists with escalation of security events. Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security devices and services, reviews security violation reports, and investigates possible security exceptions. Updates, maintains, and documents security controls. Works with vendors and various staff members to ensure compliance with security policies & procedures. Deploy, manage, maintain and integrate security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, network access control, and endpoint management. Develops and modifies incident playbooks for Operational Security staff and other personnel. Maintains current technical knowledge and skills necessary to support the defined system architecture model. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in cyber security, computer science, information systems or a related field. Five to seven (5-7) years of work experience with network and/or system security operations or the equivalent experience. Five plus (5+) years of work experience with NAC solutions such as Fortinet or Forescout. Information security related certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SIEM tools like ArcSight, QRadar, Splunk, etc. Certified as a Fortinet Network Security Analyst (NSE5) or Forescout Advanced Administrator (FSAA). Additional certifications including CCNP-Security, CISSP-Associate, or other DoD Approved 8570 Level III Baseline Certifications. Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Ability to think intuitively and analytically to break down and resolve problems. Ability to read, understand, and follow high-level policies and guidelines and apply those guidelines to daily responsibilities. Ability to work proactively and independently. Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions. Ability to pay close attention to detail and work under pressure. Ability to analyze system components and support options. The ability to be a forward, creative, positive, and flexible thinker. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the IT organization, project and application A1:B5development teams, management and business personnel. Experience with information risk concepts and principles as a means of relating business needs to security controls.
